***** IMPORTANT NOTICE! *****
You must first install the Video for Windows runtime player for the
movies to work. Go to the Windows Program Manager and select FILE,
then RUN, and type "L:\SETUP" (where L is the letter of your CD-ROM
drive). Even if you have already loaded a version of Video for Windows,
you will still need to run this setup program to load the SuperMatch
Cinepak(TM) decompressor.

The disc you have in your CD-ROM drive contains two complete
versions of Full Bloom (tm), one for Macintosh, the other for the
PC. Your CD-ROM driver is smart enough to figure out which one
you view, so sit back and enjoy.
WINDOWS USERS
-------------
Every attempt has been made to provide MPC-compatible content,
both in images (BMP format) and sound (WAV format). A Windows
navigational program can be found in the root directory of the disc.
You may install part or all of the software (with the exception of the
photos and music) to the hard drive by using the SETUP.EXE program. To do
so, choose RUN from the FILE menu of the Windows Program Manager and type
L:\SETUP, where L is the letter of your CD-ROM drive. Installing
everything to the hard disk provides MUCH better performance, however, it
will add about 1.5 MB of files to your hard drive. Buttons in the Windows
program may be used with a mouse or with the TAB and ENTER keys. The
TAB key moves from button to button, and the ENTER key selects.
Standard Windows help is available--just press the button labeled
"?" on the "Control Panel" (button bar) in the program.
Keep in mind the following requirements for Windows users:
1. You must have either Windows version 3.1.
2. You must have an MPC-compatible sound card to hear the music. Boards
from Creative Labs (the SoundBlaster Pro), Media Vision (Pro Audio
Spectrum), and many other vendors have been tested for compatibility with
this product.
3. Still pictures were meant to be displayed with a 256, 32K, 64K,
or 16M color 640 x 480 Windows driver. Such drivers are available
direct from your video board's manufacturer. Drivers for many
brands are also included in Aris's "MPC Wizard." You must have
at least 512K of video RAM. Use Windows Setup to change your
driver.
4. Movie playback requires installation of the Video for Windows
runtime, which can be found in the VFW directory. Just go to the
File Manager of Windows, then launch the SETUP.EXE program in the
VFW directory.
5. If the sound breaks up, try to increase the buffering done by Windows.
To do this, go to the Main Window, select Control Panel, then select
Drivers. Double click on the MCI Sound selection and move the slider to
9 seconds of buffering. If this doesn't entirely solve the problem,
you may need to increase the memory buffering in the MSCDEX statement in
your AUTOEXEC.BAT (the /m: command). Try increasing it to 16 or 20. See
also the Windows help file BLOOM.HLP for more troubleshooting tips.
6. Movie performance varies, based on the caliber of your installed
hardware. Best performance is obtained from MPC-compatible CD-ROM drives,
which are capable of transfering data at 150KB per second or greater.
You can test the performance of your drive with the MPC Wizard(tm).
DOS (NON-WINDOWS) USERS
-----------------------
If you have Windows 3.1, we strongly recommend use of our Windows
navigation program. See above for details.
A DOS application called "FULLBLOM" has been included to help find your
way through the files. To start the DOS version, type "FULLBLOM" at the
CD-ROM drive's DOS prompt. Unfortunately, low-resolution versions of each
picture are not available on this disc. You will need a Sound Blaster card
or 100% compatible to hear the music.
The TAB key moves through the fields, and the ENTER key
selects. A mouse is also supported. Best display quality is obtained
with Super VGA video boards having 512K of video memory. Most mainstream
video boards are supported, but there are new ones every day. The best
solution to this problem is to use our Windows version. Sound may be
played if you have a Sound Blaster or compatible card--just select the
Sound button in the application. Remember, the PC was not designed as a
multimedia machine, so this interface is not as robust as we would prefer.

ALCHEMY.EXE = Copyright (c) 1990-91, Handmade Software, Inc.
Neither Creative Labs nor Handmade Software are affiliated or
associated with Aris Entertainment, and use of their programs does
not constitute an endorsement.
You may use the IMAGE ALCHEMY shareware program for two weeks
without registering the software and paying the fee. Please
note, this program works well on all 640 x 480 or smaller
images. It offers many fine capabilities, such as
conversion between many different formats, including Mac and PC,
and it should find a home in your imaging utilities directories.
The registered version will handle images larger than 640 x 480.
DOS (Non-Windows) Version Tech Tips:
1. Try installing a VESA driver if you have a 512K VGA card and Image
Alchemy doesn't recognize your video board. Such drivers usually come on
a floppy diskette supplied by the manufacturer.
2. Use the LOWRES program if you don't have 512K of video memory.
3. Use our Windows interface. It's really much nicer!
FILES ON THIS DISK

There are 100 high quality images and 100 sound tracks stored on
this disc. Images are stored in several formats for your
convenience:
1. 24-bit TIF, in 640 x 480 format, for high resolution paint
programs and desktop publishing, in the TIFF directory. Users with
Hi-Color or True-Color cards may view these images with programs
capable of 24-bit image display.
2. 8-bit PCX, 640 x 480 format, for most DOS paint programs, in the
PCX directory.
3. 8-bit BMP, 640 x 480 format, for compatibility with Windows, in
the BMPLARGE directory.
4. 8-bit BMP, 320 x 240 format, for high speed viewing, in the
BMPSMALL directory.
5. 24-bit Movies, 240 x 180 format, including synchronized sound.
If you want to play these movies in other applications, contact COSA at
(401) 831-2672 for licensing details.
Audio is 22 Khz, 8-bit, stored as follows:
1. WAV format in the WAVE directory, for MPC compatibility.
2. VOC format in the SNDBLAST directory, for compatibility with
Sound Blaster audio cards.
The MediaVision ProAudio Spectrum and the Sound
Blaster Professional sound boards were used in the development of this
product. They are both easy to install and work well.
